When I shoot a wedding; it makes no difference to me whether its high church or the registrars office, as I treat both with the utmost respect and do not forget whose day it is. That is why a 2nd shooter come assistant is just the right thing to do. We both pick our place, one at the front of the ceremony and one at the back. No leaping about, but quite and calm and most people don’t even know we are there. Recording the event capturing those so special moments that will be treasured for years to come.

How I work
I spend time with the couple discussing the style of photography that they are looking for as I am experienced enough to be able to adapt from very informal candid shots to the very formal groups that Mum and Dad will love. That is why I ask my bride and groom to draw up a list of  ‘must have photographs’. My assistant will line up one group whilst I shoot another. It keeps the day running smoothly and does not keep people hanging around. Then we both pick up a camera and have some fun with the wedding party.

The principle is simple; to work within a budget, be professional yet unobtrusive on the day and aim to exceed all expectations, what more could you want? Hey, if you think of something, then you had better get in touch and  we can have a chat about what will make your day perfect.

After the event I can easily spend two days or more depending upon the size of the wedding editing every shot on my computer adjusting and framing each and every image before they are seen by anyone. Black and white has never gone out of vogue and in post production displaying some images in black and white just brings a different look and feel to the image, like this shot at Ladybowyer Reservoir – pure drama!
